Frequently Asked Questions

01
What projects have you delivered?

We have run a huge range of projects spanning market research into what medicines doctors need, to qualitative patient interviews, to mapping local health infrastructure to understand the gaps in a patient journey that need to be filled. We have also worked to understand local pharmacy pricing, willingness-to-pay and price sensitivity for new products and services, and completed volume modelling and forecasting. We have also run paid screening and health awareness campaigns and built innovative supply chain solutions to get products and services to rural areas in a well-covered, regulated way.

02
How much does it cost per project normally?

There really isn't a set price. Research and other one-off programmes are on a per project basis with full transparency of our efforts, overheads and expenditure. Generally, we want to get affordable products in reach52 marketplace though, providing access to affordable solutions and services so everyone wins.

03
How do you manage leakage of discounted products?

There really isn't a set price. Research and other one-off programmes are on a per project basis with full transparency of our efforts, overheads and expenditure. Generally, we want to get affordable products in reach52 marketplace though, providing access to affordable solutions and services so everyone wins.

04
How do you manage social versus commercial / compliance?

We have two separate entities that operate independently. Having both is critical to supporting patients in underserved communities, but ultimately in heavily out-of-pocket countries. We have internal governance and controls, separate reporting lines, and internal performance metrics that ensure we don’t have any conflict of interest.

05
What is your revenue model?

We charge for market research and consulting projects, run paid events and programmes in the communities, and make a delivery fee for the products and services that we sell and distribute through the reach52 marketplace.

06
What are the key needs of the communities (products, health conditions etc) ?

It varies hugely by village, which is why upfront data collection is essential. We have predominantly focussed on non-communicable diseases, financial protection plans and financial inclusion services, infectious disease (hepatitis and HIV) and maternal and child health so far. There are also huge gaps in access to over-the-counter products, diagnostic facilities, and any community/primary health services in general.

07
How big is your team?

We are currently approximately 40 staff based in 5 five offices across the globe.
