The project was designed to collect baseline data to establish the communities’ health profile and identify challenges in the existing healthcare system. The results would be used to design the most relevant and targeted health interventions for community residents.

The target areas were rural, disconnected communities in central Philippines where access to healthcare services at a local level are lacking or non-existent. Specifically, we focused on the Municipalities of Cuartero and Pototan, with urban poor and remote rural areas established as comparators.
